$14.95 Reader Rabbit Math Ages 6-9 Reader Rabbit, Sam the Lion and friends have shipwrecked on Pirate Island. There are boat pieces hidden all over the island and they need help to find them. Kids can begin with a test drive which will set skill levels for them. If they do not take the test drive the program begins on the lowest skill level and difficulty increases as activities are completed correctly. There are 9 fun activities with 6 levels of difficulty. Don't Wake the Pirates is a fun arcade style game. Sam is catching coconuts, but he must catch the ones that answer the equation correctly. The monkeys dropping the coconuts have hidden noise makers. Catch the wrong ones and the pirates will wake up. Fishing for numbers if a fun fishing game. Sam is swimming in the river. Kids direct Sam to catch fish to form an equations. They must always be on the lookout for floating logs and snakes. Pirate Splash is another fun arcade style game. Kids splash barrels with water balloons, but they must find the right barrels. Players must decide if barrels fit in certain parameters, for example "Less than 17." There are other activities that let kids explore with math. Sail Maker challenges players to complete shapes or create shapes of their own. Going Bananas teaches grouping using slippery bananas and Monkey Pizza Party challenges kids to make different kind of pizzas. Kids use fractions to cut and correctly top the pizzas. Pirate lookout helps kids with telling time and Tourist Trap uses coins that looks real to teach kids about money. Number line treasure helps kids dig for buried treasure at certain points written in a diary. Skills taught include geometry, basic shapes, area and measurement, place value, adding two and three digit numbers, subtracting two and three digit numbers, multiplying with numbers less than 10, creating fractions and exploring addition of fractions, reading a clock, adding and subtracting time, counting, adding and subtracting money, finding, adding and subtraction numbers on a number line and solving multiple-step problems. Parents can monitor children's progress and restrict access to new lands based on a percentage of success. Children strive to raise their scores to gain access to new lands.
