Reader Rabbit Reading 6-9: Reader Rabbit, Sam the Lion and Mat (Matilda) the Mouse are on another adventure searching for Sam's imagination. Activities help build phonics skills including beginning and ending sounds, spelling patterns and syllables. Storybooks build vocabulary and strengthen reading comprehension. Kids begin the Autumn Woods where Sam, Mat and Reader Rabbit explain how to play. Sam always has a poem ready to tell and there are special things to click on. Two storybooks in each place introduce new words and read them aloud. Kids can use a microphone to read the story and listen to themselves. Individual words are highlighted as they are read and each word can be read with just a click. Repetition of key words helps kids build reading confidence. Each stop has a reading activity with 3 skill levels. In Sound Sorter Mit the Monkey challenges kids to sort words based on the word they hear. This activity concentrates on initial consonants, final consonants, consonant blends, digraphs and trigraphs. Rhyme Time helps children learn about rhyming, letter patterns and long and short vowel sounds. Kids stack rhyming words to make crazy sandwiches. Silly Syllables teaches kids how to build familiar words, syllable by syllable and then experiment with longer words. Crazy creatures will dance and sing the words when they are complete. Parents can monitor children's progress and restrict access to new lands based on a percentage of success. Children strive to raise their scores to gain access to new lands. This program uses ADAPT technology to assess ability and automatically adjust levels as needed. Children can take an initial test drive and there levels in each activity are automatically set. Reader Rabbit's Reading 2: Reader Rabbit and Mat are taking a ride on the train and visiting all the places in Wordville. There are four fun stops with reading games to play.
