$14.95 Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing Version 16 This is version 16 of the most famous keyboarding program for kids and adults at all typing levels. Students start by signing in and customizing the setup. Players choose to receive instructions in English or Spanish. Students then select their keyboard type and standard keyboarding or 10-key lessons. Students begin with a typing test to asses their skills. Mavis Beacon will choose an appropriate level to start lessons based on the test. Students then progress through lessons that increase in difficulty as they learn. There are also custom lessons including speed tests. Eight fun arcade-style games add to the fun and learning when students are ready to take a break from lessons. Games like Shark Attack, Penguin Crossing and Road Race encourage learning through fun. There is also a fun game, Checkout Time, to sharpen 10-key skills. Progress reports are always handy and include information on words per minute, adjusted words per minute and your current goal. Statistics on key proficiency are also included to show what keys students have mastered and what keys need more work. This is an exceptional typing or keyboarding program.
