CAT operators, 5 and up, are needed to demolish buildings, fight forest fires, stop a volcano and more. Six authentic CAT machines are in the garage, Track Loader, Challenger Agricultural Tractor, Track Type Tractor, Lexion Combine, Excavator and Forestry Swing Machine. You can go to the training yard to practice operating these machines. When you are ready, head to the job board. At the job board you select easy or normal and then choose a job. There are four missions, each with two or three jobs. Kids can repair the city, feed a nation and prevent a natural disaster. If you choose to demolish derelict buildings you must first place the containment blocks with the Excavator. Then set off the blast and finally knock down some small buildings with the Track Loader. Each time kids complete a job they earn a certificate. They can print the certificates or admire them on the drawing table. When they complete an entire mission they receive upgrades for their cab. This is not just play. These tasks take logical thinking and problem solving skills in addition to listening, following directions and sequencing. Kids are fascinated by big machines of all types. With this CD they can learn about them and use them to complete important missions. Most important, they are in control.
