New Way Things Work

Just like the incredible book by David Macaulay this CD is packed with machines, inventors and fun.

Kids are naturally curious and this CD will answer all their questions and more. How does the internet work? What is Digital TV? Who invented the zipper?

The Digital Domain explains everything from Global Positioning System to Virtual Reality. There is easy to read text, labeled graphics and hotspots to get more detail about a certain part.

Click on machines to find 100s of machines from A to Z. Everything is explained in detail from airliner wings to x-ray machines. Some include short movies to demonstrate a principle and increase understanding. David Macaulay will explain and demonstrate faucets, fire extinguishers and more.

In Science Principals students learn about levers, pulleys, springs and much more. A goofy video on Mammoth Hygiene helps kids understand simple levers. They will never forget after watching this animation.

There are also sections on history and inventors. The history section contains information on Antiquity, The Birth of Science, The Industrial Revolution and The Silicon Age. Students use the inventors section to look up their favorite inventors and find out all about them.

This is an incredible CD for curious students of all ages, 8-108.
