Typing Instructor for Kids

Typing games and keyboarding lessons on a fun island adventure make for lots of learning and fun.

Kids of all ages and skill levels can learn to type at Typer Island. Students can embark on an adventure where they learn keyboarding skills starting with the home row. Hands at the bottom of the screen help kids with correct finger placement. When students achieve their goal they learn new keys with a fun game at the pond. Letters pop-up on lily pads arranged like a keyboard. Kids type the letters as fast as they can to learn the new keys.

When students complete lessons they are given their WPM, accuracy and adjusted WPM.

In addition to the lessons there are 11 fun games  and Story Lagoon. Games can only be played with keys the students have mastered. In Story Lagoon kids can choose fun stories to practice their skills.

This is an excellent program that is used in many schools. The graphics are vibrant, the storyline is fun and activities and games are engaging.
