Kids build confidence and develop essential reading skills as they play at Ice Mountain. This CD teaches spelling patterns, phonics, sentence construction and encourages children to read for meaning. Children will identify letter sounds and spell words containing common spelling patterns and develop awareness of simple grammar and punctuation. There are four great activities with three levels to ensure children progress as they master skills. There is also two storybooks for kids to read together or read aloud and lots of fun printing activities. Build A Sentence challenges players to sort out scrambled words and use words to make sentences. On upper levels kids will build questions. Spell-It is a fun game where kids finish spelling words with missing sounds, both vowels and consonants. Kids can hear letter sounds by moving their mouse over a letter. When kids play Match-Up they match words with pictures. Players cannot just keep clicking until they find the correct word, they must choose their answer and commit by clicking "OK." What Am I is an exciting detective game. Kids read clues to identify the correct object. The alphabet is always handy. Kids click on a letter to hear the sound and see the letter drawn. Two storybooks make reading fun. Children can read along with "A Present for Walrus," and "The Ghost." There are all kinds of things to print for learning and fun away from the computer. Kids can print cards, writing paper, signs and workbook pages. Give your child the foundation they need to succeed in reading!
